Sensory Assessments

Our Sensory Assessment Service is designed to help build a clear understanding of a child’s sensory processing profile and how this may be impacting their daily life, learning, and emotional regulation.

What the assessment includes:

  • Completion of a Sensory Processing Measure 2nd Edition (SPM-2) – Parent Form
  • A Nursery or School SPM-2  Form will also be sent to gather information across settings
  • For adolescents, a self-report SPM-2 Form will be sent out to gather their views on how they process sensory information
  • A one-hour informal clinical observation appointment to explore sensory responses, regulation, and functional skills through activities in the clinic.
  • A short written report summarising findings and practical recommendations

The report will provide:

  • An overview of your child’s sensory processing strengths and differences
  • Insight into how sensory needs may affect behaviour, attention, and participation
  • Clear, practical strategies to support your child at home and in educational settings

This assessment is suitable for children where there are concerns around sensory sensitivities, emotional regulation, attention, or behaviour, and can be used to support home strategies, school discussions, or further referrals if needed.

I really like the all-round approach that is offered for people with ADHD. Being diagnosed as an adult, it’s been great being able to sort my medication, therapy and support with systems and sensory through the one practice. The most immediate thing I felt was how relaxed I felt talking about myself for over one hour, considering I was very anxious prior to the appointment. Another immediate benefit was, that I’ve slept soundly every night since the first appointment and sleep is something which has been a debilitating problem for me, for years. This diagnosis has given me closure and I now feel happy within myself. I can now look forward to a brighter future, without analysing myself 24 hours a day.
